據GY所言, PL259的規格對其阻抗的要求不太嚴格, 在其50ohm理想值有正負近10ohm 的誤差值, 因此不利高頻訊號。但
因其機械設計較 BNC 等頭粗大, 容許較大電流, 因此在一百瓦特級數輸出的短波業餘機中普遍應用
